Peter T. Metzger
Partner in Charge - Technology
Mr. Metzger joined Page-Wheatcroft &Co., Ltd. in 1999 as a Managing
Partner, and the Partner-in-Charge of the firms Technology/Corporate Leadership
Practice. Prior to his association with Page-Wheatcroft, he was the Managing Director in
Charge of the Washington, D.C. and Charlotte offices of the global executive search firm
D.E. Foster Partners (a KPMG Alliance Firm).
In recent years, Mr. Metzger has been privileged to serve such national
and international clients as the McGraw-Hill Companies (Office of the Chairman); The
Internal Revenue Service (Office of the Commissioner), Rolls Royce/Allison Engines; Total
Renal Care Holdings, Inc. (Office of the Chairman); US Office Products; Edelman Public
Relations Worldwide; Ultra Electronics, PLC (United Kingdom); Itochu International
(Japan); Teleflex Lionel-Dupont (France); Westvaco; and Constellation Communications, Inc.
In addition to his senior executive search and consulting assignments,
Mr. Metzger is frequently invited to speak and consult on the topics of personal and
corporate leadership; decision making; organizational development; performance counseling
and related management issues. He was the keynote speaker at BUILDER
Magazines Builder 100 Meeting; and has made recent presentations to the Lee Evans
Presidential Seminar; The National Association of Homebuilders National Convention; The
National Association of Manufacturers Summer Leadership Conference; Women in Government;
Jabil Circuit, and the Builder Marketing Society. He has appeared on the nationally
syndicated radio and TV program "Americas Voice" where he has spoken on a
broad range of leadership topics and national security issues.
Mr. Metzger was born in Washington, D.C. and was educated in both
Europe and Asia. He graduated the University of Colorado (BA, International Relations) and
has graduate degrees in both National Security Policy and Latin American Studies. He is
also a graduate of the U.S. Department of States Foreign Service Institute.
Prior to his business career, Mr. Metzger served as a U.S. Marine
officer. As a Second Lieutenant he served in the First Marine Division in Vietnam where he
led his infantry platoon in a number of major engagements against enemy forces. For his
combat service both the United States and Vietnamese governments personally decorated him.
Following Vietnam he served in the Central Intelligence Agency and was later assigned to
the White House as the Military Assistant to President Ronald Reagan. While on the
Presidents personal staff, he was responsible to the President for specific national
security issues and for Department of Defense support to the Commander-in-Chief. He
completed his military service as the Commander of the Landing Force, United States Sixth
Fleet during which time he led his command in contingency operations in both Bosnia and
Somalia. |
