Martha H. Goodwin
Principal
Ms. Goodwin is a native Virginian who brings a solid national
reputation to executive search and recruitment. She founded her own retained executive
search firm in 1995, specializing in the identification of senior management to lead trade
and professional associations and non-profit organizations. In January 1998, she merged
her firm with Page-Wheatcroft & Co., Ltd., where she concentrates on fulfilling legal
searches, particularly in the areas of energy, environment, natural resources, and
telecommunications.
As Special Assistant to the President of the United States and
Associate Director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel from 1989 to 1993,
Ms. Goodwin developed selection criteria for Presidential appointments requiring Senate
confirmation and other senior-level positions in energy, natural resources, the
environment, and agriculture. To formulate and implement strategies for recruiting
candidates, she worked closely with senior White House staff, the Cabinet, Members of
Congress, trade associations, private industry, and organizations concerned with public
policy. Ms. Goodwin has developed an impressive record of successful identification and
placement of candidates who must meet extremely rigorous selection standards.
Prior to her work in the White House, Ms. Goodwin served as an
assistant to the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Energy and managed a
Congressmans Washington office.
In the private sector, Ms. Goodwin guided the marketing efforts for
fifteen long-term health care centers and managed a well-respected law firm in Roanoke,
Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Roanoke College and was
the first woman selected as Alumni Director of her alma mater. |
